Overview
Hello dear outdoor adventurers & earth roamers,
Thank you so much for choosing Chariot to be your trusty sidekick for your adventures! I'm so excited for all the beautiful memories you’ll create for life with Chariot!
Before sending a booking request, PLEASE READ our notes/rules to avoid any confusion/dissatisfaction:
1. Depending on personal preference, Chariot may not be ideal for someone who is over 6 ft tall to drive due to the partition wall preventing the driver seat to be fully pushed back. But I did have guests who are 6’+ tall told me that driving Chariot was totally ok!
2. There're two ways to pick up:
(1) In-person pickup: 45-60 minutes "walk-through" is needed when picking up. Please plan accordingly.
(2) Self pickup: I will share 9 videos of the walk-through beforehand. Each video is about 90 seconds long.
3. All toll fees will be collected from your deposit when returning.
4. We clean & sanitize all surface of the van but please do your own dishes if you use our cookware, or a $100 fee will incur.
4. Lost key is $350/each.
5. There's no mileage limitation on Chariot. But if trip is out of the state of CA, guest is required to pay for an oil change & tire rotation maintenance service via verified Ford dealership pre/during/post-trip depending on schedule. The service fee varies from about $150 - $550 depending on which dealership you go to.
6. DO NOT SMOKE INSIDE THE VAN. It will result in a $250 penalty.
7. Please add on pet fee if your pet is coming along, or it will result in $250 penalty if we deem that there's trace of pet in the van when cleaning.
8. Please let me know if you're allergic to cat. We will do an extra thorough cleaning to make sure you have a comfortable stay!
Story of Chariot - Chasing Wild Dreams!
Chariot was created to chase a wild dream of mine back in 2019 and she has brought me to the wildest dreams I could ever imagine after living full time in it for one year. Chariot is a Ford Transit XTL 250 High Roof cargo van (good for tall human to stand in but not driving :). Then piece by piece, wire by wire, my carpenter friend and I designed and built the basic structure. She went across the country 3 times after the built and have become something bigger than I expected. Over the years, my partner Derek and I, slowly refined and upgraded everything to what you see now. Chariot is not commercially designed but self designed with lots of charm and personality. She's not high maintenance, however, your journey will be a lot easier if you pay attention to her details and treat her with respect.
Chariot has taken us to 15+ national parks across the country along with our little black cat, Miss Mishi. Chariot has all the things you'd need to call it home. So all you need is your free spirited mind and suitcase! I can't wait to see what she will take you on for a magical journey of your own!
